Size, fit and style advice that stops shoppers guessing

In fashion, the hardest question is rarely what to buy. It’s which size, and how it will fit. Aria uses your size guides, fit notes and product details to answer the way a good store assistant would, and helps shoppers put a look together.

Hi! I'm looking for a warm wool coat for winter. Something classic that works for the office and at weekends.

A classic wool coat is a great choice. Belted wrap coats feel softer and more relaxed, while cleaner shapes look sharper at the office. Here are three to start with:

The questions that stall a fashion purchase

A size chart answers the measurements, not the question. Unsure shoppers order two sizes and return one, or don’t order at all.

What an unanswered question costs you
  • They leave to compare elsewhere
…and often buy from whoever answered first.
  • They guess, and send it back
A wrong shade, size or model is a return you pay for.
  • They ask support
…and wait for an answer to a question that was really a sale.

I’m between M and L. Which size should I order?

How Aria handles it

From a vague question to a confident choice

  1. 01

    Asks how they’ll wear it

Measurements are only part of the answer. Aria asks about fit preferences, layering and the occasion.

I love the first one, but I'm between M and L. I'd mostly wear it over chunky sweaters.

Do sleeves usually feel too long or too short on you?

  2. 02

    Uses your size data

Recommends a size from your size guides, garment measurements and fit notes, and explains why.

Usually a bit short. I have long arms.

That changes my answer. The M sleeve is 62 cm and the L is 64 cm. With long arms and a sweater underneath, the L gives you proper cover at the wrist, and the belt takes in the waist so it won't look oversized.

  3. 03

    Completes the look

Suggests pieces that go with it and answers delivery and return questions before checkout.

Okay, the Harbor in L. Anything that goes with it?

A soft grey knit scarf works well with camel and keeps the look calm enough for the office:

Size and fit advice

It works out the right size from how the shopper will actually wear the coat, over chunky knits and with long arms, using the size guide and fit notes. Then it adds a matching piece and settles the return question before checkout.

I love the first one, but I'm between M and L. I'd mostly wear it over chunky sweaters.
The Harbor is cut relaxed with dropped shoulders, so it already leaves room for knitwear. Going up a size mostly adds length to the sleeves and shoulders rather than room in the body. Do sleeves usually feel too long or too short on you?
Usually a bit short. I have long arms.
That changes my answer. The M sleeve is 62 cm and the L is 64 cm. With long arms and a sweater underneath, the L gives you proper cover at the wrist, and the belt takes in the waist so it won't look oversized. I'd go with the L.
How does the second one compare?
The Linden Shawl Coat is a heavier wool with a wide collar, so it's warmer and more dramatic, but it's cut slimmer. Over chunky knits you'd need to size up there anyway. For daily wear over sweaters, the Harbor Wrap Coat in L is the easier choice.

Can I return the coat if the fit isn't right?
Yes. Unworn items can be returned within 30 days, and size exchanges ship free. I've added the Harbor Wrap Coat in L and the scarf to your cart. 🧥
